Who We Are?

Mombasa Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited is a limited liability company that was established in March 2011. The company took over the operations of water and sewerage services provision in Mombasa County as from 1st September, 2005. This was after finalizing negotiations on the water Service Agreement with the Coast Water Services Board and appointing the first Board of Directors

Our Services

The company has the mandate to providing cost effective and affordable quality water and sanitation services to the residents of Mombasa County. In discharging the mandate the company is expected to undertake the following responsibility:

  • Provide quality and economical water and sanitation services to consumers.
  • Billing for water and sanitation services and ensure timely collection of dues.
  • Routinely maintain water and sanitation services and infrastructure.
  • Ensure that standards and licensing requirements are compiled with as stipulated by the Service Provision Agreement (SPA) signed with Coast Water Services Board.
  • Waste water services: Operate and maintain sewers, manholes, pumps and sewage treatment plants

04-11-2020: Scheduled shutdown  at the Baricho Pump Station.

We would like to inform our esteemed customers in North Coast and Island areas that there is a scheduled 12- hour shutdown of the Baricho Pump Station, tomorrow 05-11-2020 starting from 6.00 am. This is to facilitate maintenance works on the pumps to enhance efficiency.

Consequently, supply as per our distribution program may be interrupted as water pressure will be significantly lowered due to the shutdown. Affected areas include: Kiembeni, Kisauni, Bamburi, Shanzu, Bombolulu, Kisimani, VOK,Nyali, Mishomoroni and northern areas. 

Normal water supply shall resume on conclusion of the mentainance works. We sincerely thank you for your continued support.

04-11-2020: Schedule Mzima Pipeline Shutdown for Repair

We would like to  inform our esteemed customers that there will be a shutdown on the Mzima pipeline to facilitate repairs of a burst pipe section at Taru area. Consequently, normal water supply as per our distribution program will be interrupted. This will affect mostly the wider West Mainland areas including Miritini, Mikindani, Jomvu, Magongo and Changamwe. Normal water supply shall resume as soon as repair works on the site expected expected to take approximately 48 hours are completed. We sincerely apologize for inconveniences caused.



14-09-2020: Update on Repair Works at Mzima Pipeline due to a technical breakdown


This is to inform our esteemed customers that the repair works along Mzima pipeline at Udongo Mweusi(Tsavo East National Park) have been successfully completed, and water supply to fill the Maeras reserviors restored for onward transmission to our West Mainland consumers.

5-08-2020: Update on Repair Works at Baricho due to a technical breakdown


For the past four days and nights, a joint technical team of Mombasa Water and Coast Water Works Development Agency has been on site at Baolala area along the Baricho pipeline repairing a major burst that first occurred on Friday, 31.07.2020 and immediately recurred upon completion on Saturday 1.8.2020.
 
The team is at this moment assembling all the fittings to facilitate the completion of the works and reinstatement of water supply to residents of both Mombasa and Kilifi Counties.

To our affected customers, especially in North coast and Island areas, we apologize for the inconvenience and assure you that we are and have been working round the clock to restore your supply as per our distribution program.

31-07-2020: Interruption of water supply due to a technical breakdown at Baricho

We would like to inform our esteemed customers in North Coast and Island areas that there is a shut down of water supply from our Baricho Pump Station today, Friday 31st July 2020.

This is to facilitate repair works of a major burst pipe section along the pipeline, at Baolala area ten(10) kilometers from the Pump Station. This comes barely a day after another reported major burst pipe along the pipeline at Kiembeni area, twenty five(25) kilometers from Baricho Pump Station, whose repair works were on going and scheduled to be completed today.
 
Repair works are expected to be completed by Saturday 1st. August, 2020 morning; for reinstatement of supply to our customers.
 
Consequently, water supply as per our distribution program will be interrupted.
 
Affected areas include: Kiembeni, Kisauni, Bamburi, Shanzu, Bombolulu, Kisimani, VOK,Nyali, Mishomoroni and parts of Island area. 

We sincerely apologize for inconveniences caused.
