Eng. Mwaka Mungatana is a seasoned Mechanical Engineer, infrastructure specialist and strategic governance leader with over 30 years of progressive experience spanning energy, infrastructure, water utilities, environmental management, corporate governance and public service. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi, an MBA from the University of Nairobi, and a PhD in Business Administration (Procurement and Supply Chain Management). He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (FIEK). Eng. Mwaka has held senior technical and management positions in leading Kenya organizations, including  Kenya  Power,  Kenya  Breweries,  Kenya  Pipeline  Corporation  and  Tsavo  Power Company, where he served as Chief Technical and Environmental Officer for many years. His extensive experience encompasses infrastructure development, asset management, engineering operations, environmental compliance, procurement, sustainability and institutional leadership. He also brings significant board and governance experience, having served on the TARDA Board, Kibabii University Council, and as Chairman of the Board of Governors of Garsen Technical and Vocational College. These roles have strengthened his expertise in strategic oversight, policy development, financial accountability, risk management and stakeholder engagement. His professional exposure to water infrastructure, environmental management, public utilities and governance, coupled with his engineering and corporate leadership experience, gives him a strong understanding  of  the  technical,  operational  and  institutional  challenges  facing  water  service providers. Beyond  his  professional  career,  Eng.  Mwaka  has  demonstrated  a  strong  commitment  to community development  and public service, supporting  education,  road improvement, water access and other community-based initiatives across Tanariver County. With  his  combination  of  engineering  expertise,  senior  management  experience,  governance credentials, strategic leadership and commitment to public service, Eng.
